The Breguet 280 was a French biplane airliner designed from the wing used on the successful Breguet 19GR. Fuselage could accommodate 8 passengers with the pilot and the navigator into a closed cockpit. All the variant were powered by an W12 inline engine (Renault or Lorraine-Dietrich or Hispano-Suiza, depending the subtype). Two small additional vertical surfaces added to the tail during flight test and development.
First flight in August 1928. Ordered by Air Union and Air Orient, the whole remaining fleet (10 280T and 7 284T) became part of the new Air France company during summer 1933. The last commercial flight was in 1936.
