The Fiat G.46 was an Italian military trainer. The pilot and instructor sat in tandem under a long canopy. The last variant was a single seat layout of which 35 airframes were built for the Aeronautica Militare (Italian Air Force). 106 others with various six-cylinder air-cooled inverted inline engine were on duty under the Italian roundel between 1947 and 1959. Some of them were sold on the civilian market at the threshold of the 1960s.
The type was first ordered by the Fuerza Aérea Argentina (Argentine Air Force) which required 70 aircrafts (Fiat G.46-2B powered by a British engine). Later Syria ordered a batch of 12 of this variant. Austria was the third foreign customer with five aircrafts bought to Italian surplus.

This page lists all films that feature a variation of the 223 Fiat G.46 built.
