Category:Hanriot H.43
The Hanriot H.43 prototype first flew in 1927. It was a military utility biplane with a fuselage's structure being composed of four tubular longerons with a recangular cross section. Hanriot design works were advocate of full duralumin panel and the H.43 family complies with this.
From this basis, a whole family was designed, some project being only blue prints. First variants were dedicated to pilot training and got dual controls in two bays. The first order for a serie production was the LH.431 (50 trainers for Aéronautique Militaire française). The same year (1930), another order for 26 airframes was signed in favor of French Aéronautique Militaire (the future Air Force). The H.436 was a more powerful variant with a Salmson 9 cylinders radial engine in place the 7-cylinder used previously. This variant intended for gunner training was fitted with twin Lewis machine guns on a movable ring mount. Peru was the only export customer when Fuerza Aérea del Perú (Peruvian Air Force) secured an order for 12 aircrafts. The family last batch was in 1933 for 14 planes used as civil trainers.
Sturdy and reliable, the 150 models fulfilled their role until the armistice of June 1940, when half were still flying, but were quickly withdrawn from service.
This page lists all films that feature a variation of the Hanriot H.43 family.
