Inex-Adria Airways also titled Inex-Adria Aviopromet was created in january 1969 by the merge with company InterExport based in Belgrade, after the bankrupcy in December 1968 of the original company Adria Aviopromet/Adria Airways. Inex-Adria continued to operate charter flights between European cities and the holiday destinations on Adriatic coast (Dubrovnik, Split, Pula and Tivat) with a fleet renewal of jets McDonnell Douglas DC-9 and some leased Sud Aviation SE 210 Caravelle, then McDonnell Douglas MD-81.Due to a commercial law restructuring programme, in 1986 Inex-Adria left the Inex group, becoming an independent company and changing its name to Adria Airways.
