VA-106 flew the A-4E from November 1966 so it's very surprising to consider a German filming able to see the latest up-to-date Skyhawk (and the aircraft lack two pylons). More probably A-4C.
The Squadron were assigned to (and so mostly seen on) USS Shangri-La.
