Sopwith Pup

"If you can fly in a Sopwith Camel ..." will say Biggles ...
But he first crashes this full-size static model of Shuttleworth's Sopwith Pup (N5180, as actually painted; former G-EBKY), built especially for the film by Skysport Engineering in just five weeks.
(The Camel has succeeded the Pup and "was difficult to fly, with 90% of its weight in the front seven feet of the aircraft").

LVG C.VI

(left) G-AROY detailed in next section.

LVG C.VI of the Royal Air Force Museum, Cosford, England (G-AANJ). Loaned by The Shuttleworth Collection (29 October 1981 - 12 November 2003) in a flying condition despite only seen on the ground in this movie. On static display only since 2003 and under restoration in 2016. During this work, it was discovered that the aircraft was the assembly of several airframes (when ?). Until that, this plane was reputed to be a war prize from the Imperial German Air Service (s/n 7198/18). But due to lack of space at Imperial War Museum stored dismantled in the basement of the Science Museum, South Kensington (1924-1932). Restored to flying condition two times : in 1937 then 1965-1972.

In front of the fuselage cross, hardly readable : LVG C.VI 7198/18.
