Inspired by the record set in 1938 by Andrée Dupeyron, wife of a mechanic of Mont-de-Marsan.
A family expelled from its house in order to built a new airfield starts a new carreer in the next town. But the virus of aviation infect them, first through lesson of flying; then through competition. Until the day they think to a world record.

Caudron C.600 Aiglon

F-ANSK was the real registration of the record breaker used by Andrée Dupeyron in 1938 but the plane was slighty different of the aircraft seen in the movie. So which one is disguised with this registration ? First a two-seater, this Caudron is modified in a single seater by the Gauthier.

Caudron C.272 Luciole

At a time when French aviation was practically non-existent (the country was fully occupied; flights were only authorized by the German occupiers; fuel was drastically restricted...), there were no active flying clubs or individuals authorized to fly.
On the other hand, the Luftwaffe (and Lufthansa in the case of airliners) had requisitioned a large number of aircraft, the Lucioles, for training and liaison flights.
This is undoubtedly one of those aircraft "civilized" by the application of an aeroclub logo just the size of a svatiska (fin) and squares where the nationality insignia should be on the wings, with the fuselage registration taking the place of the black cross.

One of the three owned The Deutsche Luft Hansa in 1943, flying between Berlin and Lisbon. But this one seems a Douglas DC-2 seized in 1940 in the Nederlands. D-AE?? visible so must be D-AEAN Douglas DC-2-115E c/n1363. Was PH-AKQ then D-AEAN and ended under with SG+KV for the Luftwaffe.
