Movie (1959)
Chinese title : 空中小姐
English title : Air Hostess

Starring:
Grace Chang (Lin Ke-Ping)
Julie Yeh Feng (Chu Hsin-Chuan)

Hong-Kong, Taipei, Bangkok, Singapore ... the selection and training of three young Chinese women and their debut through the whole South-East Asia till they found love.

Vickers 760D Viscount

Vickers 760D Viscount of Hong Kong Airways, a few months before the airline merged with Cathay Pacific and the Viscounts sold to Malayan Airways.
If the star aircraft is indeed the Viscount in HKA colours, the flight attendent suit is fictitious as are the logo and advertising for "IAL". More on the Discussion tab.

Reg. VR-HFJ Viscount 760D c/n 187 (till 1959; later VR-SEE then 9M-AMS and eventually VR-AAV).
Destroyed by a terrorist bomb at RAF Khormaksar, Aden on 30 June 1967.

Taxiing at Taipei Songshan Airport (RCSA/TSS).

The late Viscount's usual capacity was 75 passengers (row of 3+2) but the two 760s built have 40 or 44 seats (as seen here : 2+2) and (underwing) slipper tanks.

Bristol 175 Britannia

... taking off from Hong Kong Kai Tak International Airport.

Curtiss-Wright C-46 Commando

Another one from a different airline is seen by reflection on the glass.

Douglas DC-3

Douglas DC-3 of Malayan Airways.

Lockheed L-1649 Starliner

Lockheed L-1649 Starliner seen in #Thailand, at Bangkok International Airport (now : Don Mueang International Airport (DMK/VTBD)).

Republic F-84G Thunderjet

Same airport... two Royal Thai Air Force Republic F-84G Thunderjets passe in the background. Strangely, they make little noise and the dialogue remains understandable without the stewardesses speak louder !

Douglas C-118 Liftmaster

Douglas C-118 Liftmaster, US Air Force on the apron at Bangkok International Airport, Thailand.
