The Martin PBM Mariner was a patrol bomber flying boat designed to complement the Consolidated PBY Catalina in service. The first example flew on 18 February 1939 and the type entered service in September 1940. Their use by US forces met an end in 1958 but several Mariner soldiered on until mid sixties with a handfull countries.
Around 1,300 Martin PBM Mariner have been built.
