1978. For three years, Cambodia, now Democratic Kampuchea, has been under the yoke of Pol Pot and the Angkar. The revolution has emptied the cities and all Cambodians are in the countryside. Three Frenchmen have accepted the regime's invitation and are hoping to get an exclusive interview with Pol Pot: Lise, a journalist familiar with the country, Paul a photojournalist and Alain (Alan) an intellectual committed to the revolutionary ideology. But is the reality they are presented with just a façade, or is it genuine? Everyone is bewildered by the setting.

Unidentified Aircraft

Cabin of the airliner, only seen through this screen :

Tecnam P92 Echo

Two yellow light utility tricycle aircraft (seen without their wing) including one registered XU-125.
In 1994/1995, Cambodia bought six airframes (of this new ultra light -the first flight was in 1993-). One was lost before 1998 and one was still in the Air Force colors (full gloss light grey) in 2017. Are these two some military ones sold on the civil market or privately bought ones ?
Over the years, the P92's design has slowly evolved, as have its engines as we can see there with this first rudged shape.
Of course anachronistic as the story during the years Pol Pot was the Prime Minister (1976-1979).

Unidentified Airliner

Unidentified airliner painted with an 'Air Cambodia' access footbridge.
Air Cambodia never existed but Air Cambodge operated some Caravelle from 1970. Perhaps the subject of this painting with an approximate subject of the last years of the Khmer Republic ?
