Director/producer Roger Corman's films were always low-budget, and this one conforms to the rule. The action takes place in Yugoslavia in 1943, but begins in Egypt. Apart from a generic sequence from The Pyramids (copyright-free?), filming took place in Yugoslavia (mainly in Dubrovnik). Thus, the first team meeting of the future commando is shot after each member has arrived in Cairo in a different way. Edd Byrnes (in the role of Simon Fell) is seen through the window of this post-war (first flight in 1947) Yugoslav airliner.
