But he first crashes this full-size static model of Shuttleworth's Sopwith Pup (N5180, as actually painted; former G-EBKY), built especially for the film by Skysport Engineering in just five weeks.
(The Camel has succeeded the Pup and "was difficult to fly, with 90% of its weight in the front seven feet of the aircraft").

Reg. G-BXNW Stampe-Vertongen SV.4C c/n 141 built in 1946 modified to carry a Scarff-type gun ring and code E6452 for the filming.
Was F-BBPB during the 1970s and today (1987-2012 ... and later ?) is G-GMAX.

Bell 206B JetRanger II
Reg. G-BAKF Bell 206B Jetranger II c/n 854 built in 1972 and crashed on 9 January 1989. No fatalities but permanently withdrawn from use following tail rotor strucking an electric cable during landing in the countryside. It separated from the airframe and the main rotor too, the aircraft eventually rolled over onto its right side.
