The Focke-Wulf Fw 56 Stösser (goshawk) is a 1930s German two-seat advanced trainer with a parasol wing. During November 1933, the first prototype performed its maiden flight. The type won for a production contract from the RLM (Reichsluftfahrtministerium / Reich Ministry of Aviation (1933-1945)) against two rival designs - the Arado Ar 76 and the Heinkel He 74. The type was praised for its aerobatic capabilities and dive speed and hability for strong pull-out.
Its distinctive empennage easily distinguishes it from other contemporary aircraft.
