Arado Ar 76

Reg. D-IZOH and D-IZUF.
Less two hundred of this light fighter (and later, advanced trainer) were built. They are seen here pursuiting the traitor (Agent Schultz portrayed by Herbert A.E. Böhme) fleing with the secret prototype. The Arado Ar 76 maiden flight was in April 1934, almost a year after the Heinkel He 51 (May 1933).
Another oddity of the scenario is that the Heinkel He 51, which plays the prototype role, is a biplane, whereas the Arado is more modern (monoplane) and flies 30 km/h slower than its pursuers... with civilian registrations !

Focke-Wulf Fw 56 Stösser

Reg. D-ITEO Focke-Wulf Fw 56 Stösser.
Another Luftwaffe fighter in civil colors leading the Arados.
Of the two types, the Focke-Wulf won the competition and was selected for the main production contract.

In 1934, the Luftwaffe had not yet changed to the more flexible and aggressive Rotte (pair) and the basic flying unit was still the three-plane section in a Vic.
So the three Arado Ar 76s are in front of two Kette (each of three planes) of Focke-Wulf Fw 56s.

Heinkel He 51 B-2

Heinkel He 51 B-2 marine target practice.

Another oddity : the secret prototype is chased by similar floatplane aircraft, necessarily slower (around 15 to 20 km/h).
