A giant radioactive octopus terrorizes the Pacific, ultimately attacking San Francisco.

Martin PBM-5 Mariner

Used to search for the survivors of a ship the octopus destroyed. Later, the same plane or one like it is used to search for the octopus in San Francisco Bay.

Hiller HTE-2

Flies John to an airfield near the Golden Gate Bridge. Same helicopter later joins a Sikorsky H-5 in performing observational duties during the octopus' attack on the city. It crashes into one of the octopus' tentacles and is destroyed.
