Piloti

Movie (1988)
Russian title : Пилоты
Starring:
Petr Stepánek (Jan Trejbal)
Karel Greif (2nd Lt. Jandák)
Peter Rúfus (Karol Halaj)
Michal Gucík (Michal Gabriel)
Story of a Czechoslovak pilot who fled his overran country to fight in France, then in United Kingdom before ending among a Czech unit of the Soviet VVS.
Mráz K-65 Čáp ?

Zlin Z-226 (acting as Morane-Saulnier MS-406)

Supermarine Spitfire

Messerschmitt Bf 109 (R/C models)
Several actions throughout this movie are based on radio-command models used both to simulate germans and russian aircrafts. For example, like this Messerschmitt Bf 109.

Later a more detailed model with firing guns.

Avia S 199
This czech post-war derivative is seen only on static display, acting as a Messerschmitt Bf 109.

Lisunov Li-2

Ilyushin Il-14
As the Lisounov is quite rare in 1988, flights are made by this aircraft in place of its forerunner.

Focke-Wulfe Fw 190
Several (?) radio-command models are used during the dogfights.

At the climax, duels show even the german pilot. First during the Battle of Britain (please, note that the Fw 190 has a canopy not split by such a structural reinforcement).

By the way, the Pik-As was the Jagdgeschwader 53 which never uses the Fw 190; but this canopy is no more this of a Messerschmitt Bf 109 !
During the last dogfight of the movie, on the eastern front, the same set is slighty updated.

Like the Bf 109 before, a detailed model shows the muzzle firing.

Focke-Wulf Fw 189

Polikarpov U-2

Avia B-534
Picture on the wall.

Lavochkin La-7
It's written on the cowling ! Probably a radio-command model.

Yakovlev Yak-18
But most of the shots display Lavochkin fighters on the ground, with an engine cowling similar to the Lavochkin La-11.

When taxiing, these planes wave dangerously, the wingtip leveling the ground !

By the way, where did the landing gear retract under this wing ? Backwards, like the first Yakovlev Yak-18 ! But the engine is the Ivchenko AI-14 of the later ones.

Tupolev Tu-2S

Ilyushin Il-10
