Schley Ride to series
Created by Wisconsin-based filmmaker Norman Schley, this "Schley Ride to Mexico" dates to the early 1950s. This film and others in the "Picturelogue" series was originally presented with narration by Schley in front of a live audience. This version of the film is presented solely with music.
The document is presented in 2 parts:
Part 1: Mexico City + countryside in Mexico.
Part 2: Acapulco.
A 3rd part is proposed on YouTube but it is just a shortened version of episode 2.

Registration N90738, c/n 43043/83. Delivered new to American Airlines in October 1947, named 738-Flagship Colorado, then 738-Flagship Dayton. Sold to FB Ayers & Assoc. in November 1966. Sold to Miami Aviation Corp. in November 1967. Sold to SAVCO-Servicios Aéreos Virgen de Copacabana in August 1970, registered CP-926. Written-off in June 1971 after a crash near Mt.Putre on route from Santa Cruz (Bolivia) to Arica (Chile).

At Aeropuerto de Pie de la Cuesta en Acapulco. Before becoming Military Air Base Number 7, this airport in Pie de la Cuesta operated commercial flights between 1946 and 1954, before moving to the current airport on the Barra Vieja route Aeropuerto Internacional General Juan N. Álvarez/General Juan N. Álvarez International Airport (ACA/MMAA).See discussion tab
Aeronaves de México operated 3 aircraft of the type only: XA-JAV, XA-LIA, XA-KOK.
The last 2 of them entered service in 1955, therefore this one is:.
Registration XA-JAV, c/n 010470. Delivered new to the USAAF in December 1944, registered 42-72365. Back to Douglas Aircraft Company in December 1945. Sold to PAA-Pan American World Airways in June 1946, registered N88896, named Clipper Eagle. Sold in November 1949 to Linea Aerea Mexicana de Carga, registered XA-JAV. Sold to Aeronaves de México in July 1952. Sold to Aerolineas Mexicanas (??) in 1960. Scrapped.
