Actually, they use both the two-seat F-5F and the single-seat F-5E in that film. I think you can also see another F-5E in US Navy Aggressor colors during the briefing in the hangar where Goose flips Kelly McGillis' character the bird. Yes I have series one. I wasn't on here at the time but I usually made captures for any aircraft even then. I don't seem to have anything saved so I'm not sure if there was anything. Love this site. Will soon learn commands and ways. Until now You guys have to update identified unidentifies ;) I wrote comments in discussion pages(as You know)) of movies with unidentified A/C´s. Some of them are very tough.. Especially 1WW. But we will crack them ;;)) Just a matter of time

Video Game

i changed name of few aircarfts in video games. I found most closer match. If you have time you can check them.

Space Aircrafts

Are we listing aircrafts like Hugo Drax space station from Moonraker or International Space Station? And for GTA: San Andres, game is set in 1992 so i think AH-64 was McDonnell Douglas not Boeing.

Fictional Aircrafts

Are we list Movies/Video Games where are all aircrafts are fictional? Like Alien movies?

Turbulence

I've added a few more pictures to this article. However the sofware I am using for the screenshots (VLC media player) is making the images look 'muddy'.

Picture Resizing

Since last August, the automatic resizing of the picture is broken. It's very time consuming to resize pix one by one to post them with sometimes most details lost during the process. Visitors are too frustrated by such thumb. Moreover, when an airplane is on a movie, a new categorie then seen again in another movie, we need to work three times on the same picture, uploaded it on three sizes ... We can't run like this for the eternity !
A multi-uploader too will be highly appreciated for big subjects. LVCDC 10:37, 31 January 2014 (MST)

A Few Questions

Hey, Bthebest. I was wondering if you could answer a few questions for me.

1. Are we allowed to add movies or video games that contain only fictional aircraft? I know there's already a Star Wars movie here, but I just wanted to make sure since I haven't noticed any others.

2. Are we allowed to create categories for fictional aircraft if they appear in more than one movie or video game?

3. Can commercials be added? I noticed a few recently that I thought might be good here, but I'm not sure if they're allowed or how to title them.

Hey Bthebest, do plan on updating the pictures on the home page at some point? If not with new pictures then at least fixing the aircraft links? The Cessna A185F link in For Your Eyes Only is broken, and the Eurocopter EC665 Tiger in GoldenEye, Sikorsky S-42A in Now, Voyager, and De Havilland DH.98 Mosquito in 633 Squadron all now have categories. Website Facing Again Difficulties ?

Thanks about the Fieseler 156 upgrade.
Since yesterday, "This wiki has a problem / (Cannot contact the database server: Unknown error (localhost))" with at an increasing rate and since this afternoon it occurs on nearly each picture I upload. Former cases like this led to a blackout of IPMDB at short term ... Anything to prevent such fate ? LVCDC 13:15, 20 August 2014 (MDT)

BTW, about the size of the database (number of images and their size), what about the unused ones ? When I'm able to shot a better picture and upgrade an existing page, the link to the first one is broken ... but the picture is still there ("unused files"). They are now 1,258 with a great number of my own, which could be erased as they were replaced by better ones or by JPG resized to 500px (to avoid the grey square when automatic resizing failed). If you wish, I could give on the discussion tab of each of them a deletion template to confirm (I think, in fact, it's really useful as some are used only on the forum). I started to select among my uploaded files now unused those which have really NO more interest. I hope you could access to a list selected from the template DELETION (by the way, a high number of spam accounts and 'title' page are still not yet erased). Airline/Military Categories

Hey Bthebest, Sixcyl and I were recently talking on the forums about the possibility of creating categories for airlines and military branches operating aircraft, in addition to just aircraft categories, and I was wondering if I could get your opinion on the matter. Hello ! As I've lost my password for the forum, just a note about Air Forces Categories. If a plane of the French Air Force acted as a Norwegian AF one, in which one would it be categorised ?

I mean to Si tous les gars du monde... and I guess the answer as Norway never used the Dassault Flamand. But what about the case of a french Mirage acting as a Belgian one ? We must be very careful and have right data as just seeing roundels could let us to think something wrong.

And what about defunct air forces (I mean to the GDR for example) ?

I'm afraid Airlines would be more complicated (look at Airliners.net, the picture search engine has a terrific list of airlines !). It takes already so much time to find the right aircraft category, to check if the same plane acted in another movie... isn't it ?

BTW, the frequent locations (which started like a game) is now fully checked by Sixcyl (thanks guy !) but already another new additional task to take care. And I'm afraid this makes the FSA page a little bit too heavy. Can we have a specific page and kept FSA for the planes themselves ?

For Air force Category, I would suggest that in the rare cases considered, the airplanes should be categorized in the genuine Air Force (Armée de l'Air in the example), with the proper comment in the film page. For Airlines Category, I would suggest the same rule between "made for movie companies" (such as Transcon Airways in Mayday at 40,000 Feet! and genuine airline company on which the fake airline is based on (World Airways in this case). But we could assume as well to make a specific sub-category "Made for Movie Airlines" doubling this first categorization (the airplane would be in both category). About Locations list: I agree with LVCDC. It's an interesting option which aim to grow, and in my opinion too, it would be necessary to create a FSL "Frequently Seen Locations" beside the present FSA. Sixcyl 00:58, 18 November 2014 (MST)

I just underline that two Junkers categories are uncorrect : Junkers Ju-86 and Junkers Ju-52. But it's impossible to correct them as they are protected. Like Junkers Ju-87, they must be change to suppress the dash. I'm ready to change all the links on the several pages of these three aircraft ... if you accept to hold the protection some times.
