Douglas C-47A-25-DK Skytrain

Registration JA5025, c/n 13510. Built in 1943 with USAAF serial 42-93582.
This airframe was involved in two notable incidents while in Japanese service. On 2 January 1959, a passenger opened the rear door mid-flight and jumped out over the Seto Inland Sea after failing to destroy the plane with dynamite. The plane was able to land safely.
Later, on 19 May 1961, the aircraft slid off the runway while landing during in rain at Takamatsu Airport. ANA spent two months repairing the aircraft and converting it for cargo use, including replacing the rear passenger door used in the previous incident with cargo doors, as seen in this film.
