Air Astana (Kazakh: Эйр Астана / Eir Astana) is an airline and the flag carrier of Kazakhstan. Founded on 29 August 2001, it commenced operations on 15 May 2002. This company had a continous growth both about its passenger traffic and profit after tax (but the 2020 due to COVID pandemy). These remarkable results, as the company was able to do so without neither government subsidy nor shareholder financial support (including in 2020 and following years), preserves its central corporate principle of financial, managerial, and operational independence. To date (2023), the fleet is relying on the Airbus A320 family and a handfull Boeing (767 and soon 787), Embraer E190-E2 are to be phased out from 2024.
