The Bloch MB.210 was a French medium bomber of the second half of the 1930s. This low-wing twin-engine aircraft made its first flight in 1934 but was nearly obsolete when the outbreak of the war with the German Third Reich (September 1939). Most of the twelve bomber units fitted with this aircraft were on the way to switched on more modern airframes (Lioré et Olivier LeO 45 or Amiot 370). Due to delays in the production of these new aircraft, some bomb groups fought until the Armistice (end of June 1940), operating by night (the type was a BN5, meaning night bomber with a crew of five).
Only 120 survived the Fall of France and saw limited use with the Vichy Air Force. Of the 247 airframes built, some dozens were sized by the Luftwaffe in November 1942 and used for training duties, six others given to their Bulgarian ally (unknown fate). Romania had received the type in 1937 and used them in July and August 1941 against the Soviet Army. Then they left the front line and soldiered as transport and training but the lack of spare parts put an end to their use in 1944. The very first use in combat was under the Spanish Republican Air Force in Summer 1936 but the weapon embargo by French Government quickly limited the three (or four?) airframe's action to some night bombing and maritime patrol.
