Taking off from Los Alamitos Army Airfield (ICAO: KSLI, FAA LID: SLI).

Less than 15 years later, the instrument panel had been modernized, but the train, throttle and flap controls remained unchanged, as shown in the film.

Registration N250CA Bell 206B JetRanger III c/n 2615. Involved in an inflight collision during a movie operation with a De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter (reg. N203E) in August 1990. Substantial damages during the resulting landing. Repaired and still flying in the 21st century.

Curtiss P-40N-5-CU

Reg. NL85104 (N85104) was built as P-40N and was on strength as a Kittyhawk IV with the Royal Canadian Air Force (s/n 858). Get actual registration on 1980 and is part of the Planes of Fame Air Museum. During the 2010s, he wore desert camouflage and the markings of the 325th Fighter Group (similar to those seen in Fortress).
